AUSTIN In a new, exclusive CBS 42/Survey USA poll, 57 percent of respondents in Texas said they disapprove of the way George W. Bush is handling his presidency. The number is stunning, particularly for a Bush's home state. In the poll, 41 percent said they approve of the President's job performance. Two percent were unsure. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus four points.Respondents were asked the question, "Do you approve or disapprove of the job George W. Bush is doing as president?"Political observers cite the length and consequences of the Iraq War as chief concerns of the public, although the Bush Administration has seen several domestic problems lately -- including a firestorm over the mass firing of U.S. Attorneys, a scandal involving the Army's Walter Reed Army Medical Center -- as well as the conviction of Vice President Dick Cheney's former aide Lewis 'Scooter' Libby for perjury.
